My Rainbow

You're as pink as the cotton candy
Which makes everything sweet.

You're as brown as the ground
Which helps me stand on my feet.

You're as golden as the sun
Which brightens my day

You're as silver as the light
Which shows me the way.

You're as green as the grass
Which softens my fall.

You're as blue as the sky
Which helps me stand tall.

You're as orange as the spring time
Which makes me frolic and leap.

You're as black as the night
Which cradles me to sleep.

You're as white as the peace
Which floods through my soul...

You're everything to me.
You're my...
Rainbow.

Pseudonymous Bosch

A few of my favorite quotes by PB! :)

― Pseudonymous BoschThe Name of This Book Is Secret

“Q: Why do you like chocolate so much?

A: The answer, clearly, is because I've tasted chocolate.”

“Whether it’s chocolate or socks, the rule is the same; the darker the better.”

“Only bad books have good endings. If a book is any good, its ending is always bad--because you don't want the book to end.”

Book Review: The Giver

Hi! I am doing a review for the book, "The Giver" written by Lois Lowry.

The story takes place in a society which is very different from our modern day  world. Every aspect of life is controlled by the Elders of the community. Everything is influenced by Sameness.
The main character is a young boy named Jonas. He is quite happy and content with his life; going to school, playing with his best friend Asher, and spending time with his family. And everything is fine,  until a fateful day in December.  Jonas is selected by the Elders to become the Receiver of Memories, and has to go through training under an old man who calls himself the Giver.

During his apprenticeship, Jonas unravels the dark secrets which lie within his community, and his life changes forever. He is shocked, as he realizes that he can trust no one but himself.
Jonas has to go through a terrifying adventure to save himself and a pale eyed baby boy named Gabriel.

I myself, really loved this book. The suspense is almost palpable. There are cliff hangers in almost every chapter, and the author has a captivating writing style which just pulls you into the book. There are moments where I just stopped breathing for a few seconds.
I would give it a  9 out of 10.

What are the secrets that tear Jonas' life apart? Does he make it? And who exactly is the mysterious Giver?
To find out...read the book. I promise....you will LOVE it.

Save the Wild!!

Did you know that every 20 minutes, the world adds another 3,500 human lives but loses one or more entire species of animal or plant life - at least 27,000 species per year?
At the present rates of extinction, as many as 20% of the world's 7-15 million species could be gone in the next 30 years.

How sad is that??? :(

If you want to help out, then check this site out.
You can adopt a wild animal, by donating money every month, volunteer, or simply send a message to the rangers in the reserves, already working hard to save our environment.

Life Tips

Two random Life Tips for...well, life.

And here's  my favorite one :)

Butterfly in a cage

(Dedicated to Srikar :P )

Stuck, trapped.
Nothing to do.
Boredom, fear,
Misery too.

Behind bars-- in a cage,
Can’t think.
Loneliness everywhere,
Heart sinks.

Beauty in midst
Of ugly walls.
Flutters up,
Cries once and falls.

A butterfly,
In a cage.

Math

Math is so complicated,
There’s a lot to do.
Addition, Subtraction…
Multiplication too.
And let’s not forget division
A subject of high confusion.
Algebra with x and y
Don’t get it even if I try.
Geometry with all its angles,
Squares, circles, rectangles.
Fractions one by two
Which I don’t want to do.
So many Graphs I have to draw
Messed up like a jigsaw.
Full of problems
Which I have to fix.
Maths and me—we just don’t mix!

Hope

I can see the sunshine,
Though the dark skies frown.
I can see the young bird fly,
Though its wings are cut down.
I can see the flowers bloom,
Though the ground is covered with frost.
I can see brotherhood,
Though the purpose of peace is lost.
I can see an end to the war,
Though millions die each day.
I can see the loving bond,
Though they have nothing to say.
I can see serenity,
Though there is chaos and no control.
I can see the ray of hope
Hidden deep in every soul.
I can see…
Hope.
Can you?

Dont Be Afraid

Don't be afraid of Pain,
Not of tears.
For they will help you learn
Over the years.

Don't afraid of Falling,
However hard the ground may be.
For mistakes are just lessons,
They’ll help you look out and see.

Don't be afraid of Darkness,
Misery, pitch black.
For there will soon be light
Love will be back.

Don't be afraid of the Future,
Not of war, or strife.
For both  happiness and sadness,
They are both part of life.

Don't be Afraid.
